Transiting from Poznań to Warsaw via train in the early morning, we pass through a foggy countryside filled with hues of gray and green. Fields of blooming rapeseeds intersperse sporadic flashes of yellow.
Dawn transitions to morning as the light begins to filter into the platforms of Poznań Głowny station. A few trains and passengers come and go while waiting for our early morning train to Warsaw.
One of my favorite squares in Europe. The goats had made their appearance earlier in the day. Puddles from the rain showers replaced the majority of those to see the high noon performance.

A tram operating for the ZTM meanders through the city center. This class of tram was manufactured in Chorzow, Poland sometime between 1979 and 1992 and as I understand is being phased out in favor of a less aesthetically pleasing contemporary carriage. The more I read about the city’s transit system, I am grateful to have visited when I did as another equally visually appealing tram, built by Düwag and formerly operated in Germany, was taken out of service shortly after my visit.
Caught in the act. An appreciated addition of tension to this scene of a vegetable and fruit stand encountered on Półwiejska street.
Splashes of color from the transit signage offsetting the gray hues of a rainy afternoon.
