My route home this particular evening took me through the industrial areas of the city just north of I-70. A part of Denver where warehouses still serve a manufacturing purpose. Where the naming displayed in the neon signage and inlaid bricks is not a figment of the past.

Eventually made my way to this truck stop and diner located at Vasquez Blvd. and I-270. Always wanted to get a photograph of it near dusk with its neon lights illuminated backed by the blue hue of twilight. I arrived to find the place closed for good, now a relic of a bygone era, no longer the oldest operating truck stop in Colorado.

Exploring the side-roads of Northern Denver I encountered this ‘used car’ lot bordered with a fence painted in an Americana color palette and adorned with bumper stickers proclaiming ‘Hillary for Prison 2016’.

No honeymoon is complete without some time relaxing on a beach reminiscing about the past and looking forward to the future. We arrived to the beach in time for a happy hour Chang and to watch the afternoon storms roll across the bay.

A typical American box store sits empty in southeast Denver. Its expansive parking lot now used for driving lessons and nefarious activities.

I had never seen such a drastic shift between high tide and low tide before visiting Krabi. During high tide, the water would leave a few feet of beach between our resort and the water. When the tide receded, it would do so quickly, revealing a vast expanse of sand filled with tiny crabs searching for cover and in this instance a longtail that would have to wait for the next high tide to depart.

From Bangkok we moved on to visit Chiang Mai which afforded us the opportunity to leave the city behind and explore the surrounding hills and countryside.

Welcome to Bangkok, Thailand. After our time in Japan, we arrived in a completely different part of Asia. Equally as great and inspiring in its own unique way. Getting lost in the chaos, it became apparent that there is order and hierarchy in the constant commotion of this vast city.

A water taxi stand waits for future customers. As cryptically outlined by the signs, one can obtain a coconut for 50฿, drinking for 30฿, and Serbia for 70฿. All of which seem to be a good deal to me.
