Late Evening Commuters at the Nippori Station
Even if for a simple stroll on ones way to another point in the city, Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane/Piss Alley) is well worth a visit when in Tokyo. Nearby Shinjuku Station, the cramped alleyways offer a captivating aesthetic of power lines, paper lanterns, faded adverts, and salarymen all lit by the hazy blue light which has been defused from the smoke from the food stalls’ grills. We stopped at this establishment for grilled eel and a lager before moving on to other Shinjuku explorations.
